Founded in 1954, Maker’s Mark is a family-owned Kentucky distillery that produces handmade bourbon whiskey. The company prides itself on using only the finest ingredients and traditional methods to produce its award-winning spirits.
Maker’s Mark was founded by Bill Samuels Sr., who inherited his father’s distillery in 1953. He set out to create a unique bourbon whiskey that would stand out from the mass-produced brands on the market. After experimenting with different recipes, he finally settled on a recipe that used red winter wheat instead of rye. This gave the whisky a softer, smoother flavor that was unlike anything else on the market.
Today, Maker’s Mark is one of the most popular bourbons in the world. The company offers a variety of products, including the flagship Maker’s Mark Bourbon, as well as other whiskeys, liqueurs, and even candles.
